There is a nationwide healthcare provider that specializes in rehabilitation services with 119 hospitals and more than 5,400 beds; this healthcare provider is designed for servicing needs ranging from medically complex and critically-ill patients requiring longer acute care hospitalization to outpatient physical rehabilitation centers and contract therapy. In December 2015, this healthcare provider selected Epic for its enterprise electronic health record needs. It needed an EHR provider that could implement one comprehensive interoperable solution to effectively link up all of their facilities nationwide.

The healthcare provider needed a single vendor to partner with to support its fluctuating Epic consulting needs through a four-year implementation period. With 100 inpatient rehab facilities and more than 1,500 outpatient units across the country, it had a complex implementation plan which required a firm that could provide both a local, boots-on-the-ground approach combined with a national delivery campaign to support the entire life cycle of the Epic implementation. The healthcare providor required talent from all aspects of an implementation: Project Managers, Analysts, Principle Trainers, Credentialed Trainers and Go-Live Support.

Through a multi-year partnership, a blended solution was deployed which combined the MedixDirect® Epic workforce solution, experienced Epic consultants and a network of Credentialed Trainers to accommodate the multi-phased implementation.

Approximately 150 Epic consultants were deployed in varying capacities across multiple phases of the implementation.
